About The Founders
My co-founder (Luke) and I (Andy) have been investors for a couple of years now. We don’t have tons of professional trading experience given that we’re both still in college, but we’ve developed our own opinions on the most effective way to invest. These opinions are part of the reason we originally wanted to build Trellis.
In the past, we’ve focused on trading solely through fundamental analysis. We would review earnings reports, news articles, and revenue forecasts. We found that fundamental analysis proved effective for generating a watchlist of which stocks we wanted to trade, but learning technical analysis has allowed us to find better entry and exit points for these stocks on our watchlist. This mix of fundamental and technical analysis combined with an automated or semi-automated approach to investing is most optimal in our opinion. This approach can help investors have control over their strategies while also not having to constantly screen the markets for ideal entry and exit points.
Why We Built Trellis
We built Trellis because in order to build a trading bot that takes this approach of investing, you need to have extensive programming knowledge and be willing to spend weeks or even months to program your bot. But with our platform, anyone can build their own trading bot in under five minutes, without code.
How It Works
1. Select which stock you want your bot to trade and decide whether you want your bot to do paper or live trading.
2. Build your bot’s strategy (or use one of our template strategies).
Our bot-builder has a Zapier-like interface which allows you to chain logic together using “and” “or” statements. Here’s an example: If the RSI of Apple crosses below 30 and the price of Apple is below 200, buy 10 shares. That’s it--the programming language of our platform is just plain english.
3. Deploy your bot in one click!
If you want to be notified when your bot makes a decision, you can connect to one of our social integrations. So far, these include Email, Slack, and SMS.
In case you’re curious about pricing, we’re free to use. As founders, we’re way more interested in hearing your feedback and creating a product that makes automated trading more accessible to everyone than we are in charging you. Please feel free to reach out to us with any feedback at [email protected].
