The integration with ChatGPT is an extension of Alpaca’s MCP Server, which connects AI interfaces to Alpaca’s Trading API capabilities through the Model Context Protocol. While Alpaca’s integration with ChatGPT prioritizes market data access, Alpaca’s MCP Server is also available as a self hosted solution for developers who want to build more AI driven trading workflows across their own tools and environments.
This launch reflects Alpaca’s continued focus on meeting developers where they already work, while supporting the growing ecosystem of AI powered applications.
