We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Eugene Investment & Futures Co., Ltd. to bring Korea Exchange (KRX) derivatives to Alpaca’s brokerage infrastructure.
The MOU was signed by Sookoo Lee, CEO of Eugene Investment & Futures and Chairman of Eugene US Holdings, and Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and CEO of Alpaca, at the 3rd Alpaca Partner Summit in Lisbon, Portugal on October 27, 2026.
Partnering with Eugene Investment & Futures
Under the agreement, Alpaca and Eugene Investment & Futures are working toward an omnibus structure for Korean derivatives. That structure is meant to let institutional clients and brokerage partners offer KRX derivatives without investors having to open an account at a Korean futures brokerage firm. This empowers global investors to remain on their local broker or investment platform while removing friction.
Eugene Investment & Futures will act as Alpaca’s on-the-ground partner in Korea, handling local execution and market access, as well as clearing, settlement, and the omnibus account operations. Korean-listed options are the planned starting point, with plans to expand into additional KRX derivatives in the near future.
"This MOU marks an important step toward further strengthening our strategic partnership with Alpaca and enhancing global investors' access to the Korean derivatives market," said Sookoo Lee, CEO of Eugene Investment & Futures. "By combining the strengths of both companies, we look forward to creating new business opportunities and building a foundation for mutual growth."
“Korea’s capital markets are among the most dynamic in the world, and investors should be able to access them through the financial institutions they already know and trust,” said Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and CEO of Alpaca. “Our partnership with Eugene Investment & Futures advances the work we’ve already started together on Korean equities, and extends that access into derivatives, including options.”
Building on our partnership in Korea
This MOU builds on our July 2026 agreement with Eugene Investment & Securities, Alpaca’s local equities partner for execution, custody, clearing, settlement, and omnibus operations in Korea. Together, the two agreements give our partners a clearer path to providing both Korean equities and derivatives and help our partners widen what they can offer their customers.
Pairing Alpaca’s brokerage infrastructure with Eugene Investment & Futures’ local expertise helps partners offer Korean-listed products without building a separate Korea stack for licensing, clearing, and account structures.

Strengthening cross-border market access
Alpaca’s mission is to open financial services to everyone on the planet, and cross-border market access is a core part of how we deliver on that mission. It also builds on recent progress across the region, including our agreement with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), in-principle approval from MAS for a Singapore Capital Markets Services (CMS) license, and Financial Services Permission from the FSRA of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).
